Magic in the Air

When I was little I believed in magic.  I believed in guardian angels and I believed in miracles, too.  By the time I was 8 or 9 the cynical world I lived in had knocked such enlivening thoughts out of me and for many years my life was quite flat.  Not bad, just mundane and I was always vaguely resentful that magic had been explained away.  It wasn't until I reached my middle years that I began to challenge those cynical voices from my past, and to cautiously entertain the possibility that magic and miracles were still around just waiting for me to believe in them again.

When I have my camera in my hand it seems the whole Universe endeavors to dance in front of my lens, like the fairies of my childhood, reminding me magic is still in the air. Now I find it easy to believe in magic and see evidence of it everywhere. Below are frozen patterns of ice on the windshield of my car. How magical is that?

Seriously? I've never seen anything like that! That is certainly magical. I believe in magic and miracles - not so much the magic show type of magic, but the things that happen around us that hold us in awe if we take the time to notice ( such as your windshield) .

Wow...I don't know if the frost on my car just isn't ever that pretty or if I'm always in such an angry hurry to scrape it off that I've never noticed. Awesome shot!!

I think it was one of those nights where it rained a little, blew a little and then froze. But, I don't want an explanation for magic! Lol.

Those are the most wonderful frost patterns I've ever seen. They truly fit the bill for "magical".

WOW, that is so beautiful! You've quite an eye. I'm glad you believe in magic again and we both are discarding those old default tapes in our in our first mental computer. It's a new day when we question authority and decide to live the life we imagine.

It's true, Magic is all around us for those with eyes to see.

You've just proved you can be literal and magical at the same time. A magical freezing. Even those who don't believe in magic would have to agree those delicate patterns are pretty amazing. I will look at frozen windscreens quite differently now!

yes you have to believe when you see nature's beauty like this, isn't interesting how the same patterns are used over and over within Nature's themes. this looks like ferns in a current of water. love it.

Wow, I would not be able to scrape that off to drive the car.
